Sandra "Sandy" Sue Schwien

With deep love and gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Sandra Sue Schwien — lovingly known to all as Sandy — on Friday, June 27, 2025, at the age of 82. She passed peacefully in Arvada, Colorado, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on November 18, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, Sandy shared a special bond with her twin sister, Sally. They were the beloved daughters of the late Rose and Gronway Williams, and Sandy carried her family’s strength, kindness, and grace throughout her life.

Sandy lived a life rich in love, generosity, and laughter. She had a gift for bringing people together — whether through a lively game of cards or dice, a thoughtful holiday letter, or a simple conversation over the phone. She delighted in the little things: cheering from the sidelines at her grandchildren’s games, sneaking treats to her grand-dogs, and reminiscing about her many travels with her husband, Jerry, and dear friends.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Sandy gave of herself without hesitation. She created a home filled with warmth and welcome. Her love for her family was unwavering — a quiet, steady force that made everyone around her feel seen, safe, and deeply loved.

Sandy is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Jerry Schwien; her daughter Melissa (Schwien) Bryan and her husband Richard; her son Jarrett Schwien and his wife Lisa; and her cherished grandchildren: Austin, Jessica, Isabelle, Colton, and Lauren. Each of them carries forward her legacy of kindness, joy, and deep love for family.

A celebration of Sandy’s life will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Rocklands Church in Genesee, Colorado.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Sandy’s memory.
