There’s the classic joke of an Irishman walking out of the bar. Ronald Mauff walked out of the bar for the final time on December 8. He had already tasted every beer there and told every joke there ever was — some twice. Ron was known for his one-liners; most were pretty funny, depending on who you asked. After 53 years of marriage, three kids, five grandkids, three great grandkids and 76 years of mediocre service, there wasn’t much else to do. If there was any time outside the bar, he spent it on the golf course. His favorite club was the 3-wood, because that was his warped sense of humor. He did conquer one hole, once besting God and nature with a mighty hole-in-one on September 5, 1981. It was the best day of his life, besides all the family and such.
