Obituary

Rob E. Ranker, born on June 15, 1949, in California, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026, in Colorado, surrounded by family.

Rob is survived by his loving wife, Patti; his brother, Craig (wife Lynette Antonov); and his beloved children: Travis (wife Kristy), Robert (wife Jennifer), Jeremiah, and Matthew (fiancée Mary). His memory will live on through his nine grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.

Rob attended Hemet High School, Class of 1968. As a senior, he proudly served as a lifeguard—an early reflection of both his strength and his love for the water. He attend Utah State University, graduating in 1972 with a bachelor’s degree in forestry. His educational background laid the foundation for his lifelong passion for nature and the outdoors.

He began his professional journey with the U.S. Forest Service in California, where he valiantly fought forest fires. Rob later worked for Philip Morris for nine years, followed by a 25-year career with Bristol Myers Squibb, where he was respected for his contributions and professionalism.

Known for his friendly and personable nature, Rob was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was not only a neighbor but a friend to all, often going out of his way to assist others—such as running a generator for those without power during a recent snowstorm. While he possessed a serious side, he was also known for his wonderful sense of humor, which endeared him to many. His well-rounded knowledge allowed him to converse on any topic, making every interaction memorable.

An adventurous spirit, Rob loved to travel, exploring beautiful destinations such as Australia, New Zealand, Greece, Italy, Hawaii, and the Bahamas and Africa. He made yearly trips to Hawaii and Aruba, returning time and again to the oceans he loved. He found joy in surfing ocean waves and scuba diving beneath them, embracing both the thrill of the sea and its quiet depths. He also cherished time spent fly fishing, hunting, and hiking, finding peace and purpose in the outdoors.

His love for life extended to sharing stories about his children, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love.

Rob's proudest accomplishments revolved around his dedication to hard work and leading by example, always striving to ensure his family's success. He took great pride in his sons, nurturing their growth and instilling strong values in them. He was consistently recognized with awards at annual company events and was a phenomenal marksman and competitor in Cowboy Action Shooting.

He is preceded in death in death by his parents, Robert and Joet Ranker.

A memorial service to honor Rob’s life will be held on March 7, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 7645 Malamute Dr, Evergreen, CO 80439.

As we remember Rob E. Ranker, let us reflect on his legacy of love and integrity, a sentiment beautifully encapsulated in the Hawaiian phrase, “A Hui Hou Aloha,” meaning “Until We Meet Again, Goodbye.”
