Pietrina "Patti" Wampach, 77, of Louisville, Colorado passed away peacefully on May 15, 2025. Patti was born on February 2,1948 in Chicago Illinois to the late Emily and Joseph (Joe) Saladino. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Nicholas Saladino and by her husband, Kenneth Wampach.
Patti was a 1966 graduate of Sienna High School in Chicago and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree at Northern Illinois University where she focused her interests in theater. She continued her studies at the Goodman Theater. With her talents in theater, she performed stand up comedy and joined the 2nd City Players for a short time. She shared her love of theater by teaching acting classes and offering workshops to students of all ages, including children at Waubonsee Community College. Patti was a playwright and produced and directed many of her works in local theaters.
Patti met her husband, Kenneth (Ken) Wampach, through Ken’s sister, Judy, and they instantly connected. They married on July 16, 1978 and were married for 35 years. She shared a wonderful life with Ken. As Patti described him, “Ken raised me up, so I could stand on mountains.” They moved to Colorado after Ken was offered a career move and promotion through Western Electric/Lucent Technologies as an Electrical Engineer. Patti utilized her training in sales and graphic design and started Creative Endeavors, a business promoting advertisement and creative ad design for Denver-Metro companies, particularly businesses serving seniors. Patti introduced herself to the owner of a senior newspaper, Ray Pallum, who was seeking retirement and wanted ‘The Prime Time for Seniors’ Newspaper to be taken and embraced by a person who shared the same passion, beliefs, and focus on providing valuable information to the senior community. Patti became the new owner, publisher, managing editor of ‘The Prime Time for Seniors’ Newspaper in 2002. Within 10 years of ownership, Patti expanded the circulation of this paper to 52,000(104,000 readers).
Patti is survived by Antoinette ‘Toni’ (affectionately known as Patti’s “Auntie Babe”) O’Hara, Aunt; Judy Amberg, Sister-in-law; Tina Hanekat, Niece; and cousins Nick Saladino, Diane Saladino, Dina Mazzuca, Dom Mazzuca, Terri O’Hara, and John O’Hara. She will be dearly missed by second cousins, other family members and friends who will remember her positive spirit, her humor and ability to make people laugh, and her compassion and love for others.
Service and Mass will occur at St. Louis Catholic Church: 902 Grant Ave. Louisville, CO, Friday, June 13 th at 10:00 am with Interment to follow at the Louisville Cemetery at 12:30 pm. A Celebration of Life gathering honoring Patti will follow from 2-4 pm at The Old Santa Fe Restaurant, 592 McCaslin Blvd., Louisville. Lunch and a beverage will be provided.
