In Loving Memory of Orlando

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, cousin, and friend Orlando. Though his time with us was far too short, the love, kindness, and joy he shared with everyone around him will remain with us forever.

Orlando was a hardworking, compassionate, and incredibly talented sous chef whose greatest passion was cooking. He had a gift for bringing people together through food, creating meals that nourished not only the body but also the soul. Whether he was in the kitchen preparing a favorite dish or spending time surrounded by nature, Orlando found beauty in life’s simple moments. He was known for his warm heart, infectious sense of humor, and the genuine kindness he showed to everyone he met. His laughter could brighten any room, and his generous spirit left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Earlier this year, Orlando was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer), a devastating illness that brought countless hospital stays, procedures, and unexpected complications. Despite enduring tremendous pain and uncertainty, he faced each challenge with remarkable courage, resilience, and hope. Through every setback, he continued to inspire those around him with his strength and unwavering determination.

Although his earthly journey has come to an end, Orlando’s legacy lives on in the memories he created, the lives he touched, and the love he gave so freely. We will forever remember his gentle heart, his dedication to those he loved, and the joy he found in caring for others.

While we grieve his absence, we find comfort in knowing that he is now at peace, free from pain, and resting in the loving arms of our Lord.

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Orlando’s memory will forever be a blessing. Though we will miss him beyond words, we are grateful for every moment we were blessed to share with him. May he rest in eternal peace.
