Mary Kathryn Tomes (Warren), peacefully slipped from this world on July 23, 2016, surrounded by family. She was born to the late Walter and Helen Warren on June 9, 1950, in Clinton, IL. She attended Moore High school, graduating in 1968. She went on to get her cosmetology license from the University of Beauty Culture in 1969. In 1973, Mary and her husband moved to Colorado. It is where her children, Josh (Shauna) and Candida (Brian) and four grandkids, Kaleb, Hannah, Kaitlyn, and Lukas reside. Mary is also survived by her brother and sister, Buddy (Deborah), Dianne (Don) and three nephews Kevin, Bryce, and Blake. Mary was nicknamed “Mimi” after the birth of her first grandchild, Kaleb. The name stuck and she was fondly known as Mimi for the remainder of her life. She filled her life with the things she loved; gardening, grandkids, shopping, singing, family, dancing, friends, Shih Tzus, and her children. She will always be remembered for being loving, beautiful, strong, outgoing, and mostly for having an unmatched sense of humor. Her laughter would light up any room. A celebration of life will be held for friends and family in Colorado on July 31, 2016. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, alz.org.
