Loreen Joy Pelgar, age 63, passed away peacefully in her daughter’s arms on July 2, 2025, due to ongoing health complications. Her mind was strong and admirable, but her body grew tired- so the Lord carried her home to spend her eternal life in Heaven.
Loreen was born on September 21, 1961, in Denver, Colorado, to Roy and Margaret “Joanne” Lundquist. She resided in Thornton, Colorado where she grew up and spent most of her life.
Loreen attended Thornton High School 1975-1979, then married her high school boyfriend, Alan Madril of Westminster, Colorado. Dated in 1977, then married 1983-1985, and together had their only daughter, Stephanie in 1983.
She held jobs at Sentinel Newspaper and Intermountain Color, then worked as an Accountant/Bookeeper for A-1 Truck & Auto (repair shop) for decades before retiring due to cancer and other health concerns in 2010.
She married her loving husband, Brian Pelgar of Cleveland, Ohio. They dated in 2002, then married in 2004 where they resided in Thornton, Colorado.
Loreen lived an honest and humble life who always put others before herself. She believed in God, loved her family deeply, adored her cats, admired farming, and had a passion for gardening. She grew the best flowers and vegetables from seed; especially tomatoes, which brought her immense joy to share the fruits of her labor with many.
She was incredibly giving, loving, caring, thoughtful, kind, considerate, smart, creative, simple, inspiring, positive, strong, spiritual, magnetically likable, and warm hearted with a beautiful smile.
She never complained, always bright and full of love and joy- her middle name so fitting. She gave the best hugs, touched hearts, inspired all, and will be missed by many.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Brian Pelgar; loving daughter, Stephanie McLees; adored son-in-law, Alex McLees; and cherished granddaughter, Elin McLees, who brought her endless joy. She is also survived by her siblings: Jeff Lundquist (Liouda Lundquist), Serena Wixson, Melissa Pacheco (Mike Pacheco); and beloved niece, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Lundquist and her parents, Roy and Margaret “Joanne” Lundquist.
Matthew 5:4: "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted."
