Kevin Craig
Hollingsworth
September 3, 1954 – June 5, 2026
Kevin Craig Hollingsworth, 71, passed away peacefully at home with his daughter by his side, surrounded by love.
Born to Carol Donovan and Glen Hollingsworth on September 3, 1954, Kevin lived a life marked by hard work, dedication, laughter, and love for his family.
Kevin spent many years as a Lead Warehouse employee at Core & Main, where he was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to getting the job done right. He took pride in his work and earned the respect of those around him.
Outside of work, Kevin loved hunting and found peace in the outdoors. Some of his happiest moments were spent with his hunting groups, both made up of family members who shared his passion for the outdoors. For Kevin, hunting was never just about the hunt itself—it was about tradition, laughter, stories shared around camp, and making memories with the people he loved most.
Family meant everything to Kevin. He shared a special bond with his cousins, whose love and friendship remained a constant throughout his life. From hunting trips and family gatherings to the everyday routines of life, they created countless memories together. Over the years, many miles were spent carpooling to and from work, turning ordinary drives into opportunities for conversation, laughter, and stories that would be retold for years to come. The love they shared was a source of strength, comfort, and joy throughout Kevin's life.
Kevin also shared a lifetime of memories with his siblings, and he never ran out of stories to tell about their adventures together. From days spent out at the farm, to trips into town, to evenings at the drive-in, those memories remained some of his favorites throughout his life. He loved reminiscing about the fun they had together and the stories they created along the way. His siblings also knew to always be on alert, because Kevin never missed an opportunity to scare them if he could. Whether it was sneaking around a corner or pulling a harmless prank, he took great joy in keeping them on their toes and creating memories that would be laughed about for years to come.
Kevin was also known for his endless supply of dad jokes. He always seemed to have one ready, whether it earned a laugh, a groan, or an eye roll. His humor brought light to everyday moments and left lasting memories for those who knew and loved him.
Family game nights were never complete without Kevin at the table. He loved a good game of Phase 10, though everyone knew his competitive spirit would start to show if the cards weren't falling his way. One family story that will never be forgotten involved a game of Uno where Kevin lost so badly that he declared he was done with the game for good—and true to his word, he never played Uno again. His reactions became part of the fun, creating memories that his family will laugh about and cherish for years to come.
Kevin was blessed with a close-knit group of friends who became like family. Through countless barbecues, birthday parties, holiday gatherings, and evenings spent playing dominoes, they shared a lifetime of laughter and friendship. Their loyalty and presence never wavered, and they remained by Kevin's side through life's many chapters. Among those friendships was Jill, whose memory remained close to Kevin's heart and whose friendship was deeply cherished.
Of all the roles Kevin held throughout his life, being a father was among the most important. He is survived by his daughter, Shawnie Hollingsworth. No matter how long or difficult his day had been, Kevin always made time for his daughter. Shawnie will forever remember being carried on his shoulders and taken to the park, even after he had spent the day working hard.
Kevin also spent many years playing softball himself, a sport he truly loved. He traveled all over to play, making countless memories along the way, from local ballfields to destinations such as Brush and beyond. His love of the game never faded, and it became something he shared with his daughter. He never missed a single one of Shawnie's softball games, always showing up to cheer her on and support her. Even after practice was over, there always seemed to be time for one more game of catch. His unwavering support, presence, and love were gifts she will carry with her forever.
Those moments, simple as they were, became some of the memories Shawnie cherishes most. They also shared many hours watching the Denver Broncos, a team Kevin supported with unwavering loyalty. He truly bled orange and blue. Kevin also enjoyed watching drag racing and had a lifelong love of cars of all kinds. Whether talking about engines, admiring a classic car, or watching races, his enthusiasm was contagious and brought him great joy.
During his battle with glioblastoma, Kevin showed extraordinary strength. He faced each challenge with courage, determination, and a fighting spirit that never wavered. His family witnessed firsthand the resilience that carried him through his hardest days, and they will forever be proud of the grace and bravery with which he faced his illness. Even throughout his battle, Kevin never lost his lifelong passion for cars. His knowledge remained as impressive as ever, and he could still identify the make, model, year, and even the color of cars that passed by. It was a small but powerful reminder of the sharp mind, remarkable memory, and enduring spirit that remained a part of him until the very end.
Those who knew Kevin will remember his hardworking spirit, his love of hunting, his quick wit, and the way he could make people smile even during difficult times. His stories, his jokes, and the love he gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Though he is no longer with us, Kevin's legacy lives on through the people whose lives he touched and the memories they will carry forever.
He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
