Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kelly Ann Gibbons, age 52, who passed away on January 6, 2026, after a courageous ten-year battle with breast cancer.

Kelly was born on March 28,1973 in Cleveland, Ohio to Brian and Carlotta Gibbons. She grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona alongside her siblings, Brian and Tina. In 1999, she made Colorado her home, where she built a meaningful and long-standing career in the restaurant industry. Known for her leadership, dedication, and genuine care for others, Kelly earned the appreciation and admiration of those she worked alongside—especially her team at Dividend Restaurant Group.

Kelly was a deeply kind, loving, driven, and compassionate woman. She was devoted to her family & friends, strong in her faith at Holy Family, and always ready to help those in need. She expressed her warmth and generosity through cooking lavish meals, offering heartfelt encouragement, and showering loved ones with thoughtful gifts—always finding ways to make everyone feel cherished. She treasured her role as Nana to her grandchildren and as a loving Aunt to her nephews. Her love for her father, Brian, who passed in 2020, remained a guiding light throughout her life.

Drawn to the outdoors, Kelly found happiness in nature—fishing from dusk until dawn, camping in the Rocky Mountains, exploring Colorado’s lakes and wilderness on ATVs and jet skis, cruising on the back of a Harley, spending time at the shooting range, and sharing travel and adventure with those she loved. She also found joy in ski lodges during cold winter days, whether working or unwinding. In her younger years, she starred in glee club and developed a love for dancing, early reflections of her lifelong appreciation for music, concerts, and musicals.

Kelly found comfort in life’s simple pleasures—soaking up the sun on her back patio, warming herself by the fireplace, working on jigsaw puzzles, and watching cooking shows and the Hallmark Channel. She carried a spirited competitiveness, attending sporting events and proudly winning multiple fantasy football championships and March Madness brackets, while faithfully cheering for the Ohio State Buckeyes and Colorado sports teams. At home, she enjoyed challenging loved ones to games of darts, chess, and pool, a space made complete by the companionship of her beloved dogs, Sydney (d. December 28, 2025) and Reagle.

Kelly is survived by her mother, Carlotta; her brother, Brian (Sarah); her sister, Tina (Jeff); her partner, Mick; her stepchildren, Raquel and Kohl (Payton); her nephews, Cason and Carter; and her beloved grandchildren, Carson, Myla, and Calum.

She will be remembered for her bold resilience, kind soul, playful humor, adventurous spirit, and the love & care she generously shared with those around her. True to the way she lived her life, Kelly gave one final, selfless gift by donating her corneas, allowing others to see the beauty of this world. Details regarding Kelly’s Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
