Julia Margaret Group, 75, of Northglenn, Colorado passed away on September 16th, 2026, after a brief but strong fight with pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Julia was born in North Platte, Nebraska on January 10th, 1951, to Andrew and Mary Poltack. She grew up in Elsie, Nebraska and was the second of six children. She lived out her childhood on a small farm in southwestern Nebraska. Many of Julia’s happiest childhood memories were made during summers spent with her siblings at Lake McConaughy. After graduating from high school, Julia attended cosmetology school, relocating to Colorado, where she would build her life and create lasting memories. Julia enjoyed a successful career in accounting and finance. She was admired for her dedication, professionalism, and strong work ethic. Later in life, one of Julia’s favorite hobbies became jewelry making, a creative passion that eventually grew into her own business. She had a true knack for creating beautiful, unique pieces, and she took great pride in sharing her creativity with others.

Julia had a deep love for the outdoors, especially the Colorado mountains and her beloved Estes Park. She found a special kind of happiness in gardening and truly had a green thumb. She could bring just about anything to life, finding great joy in watching her flowers grow and bloom. Julia was an amazing cook who took great pride in cooking for her family. She was famous for her green chile and pork with mashed potatoes. She loved cleaning on Saturday mornings with 60’s music blasting through the house. Dancing in the kitchen, summers in the backyard splashing in the pool. She enjoyed shopping, getting her nails and hair done, lots of hair spray and wearing a great lipstick. 

Julia was the beloved wife of Douglas for 36 years until his passing in 2024. Their life together was built on love and commitment to one another, and their family remained at the heart of all they shared.

Julia was preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Mary, her husband Douglas, her son Jeremy, and her brother Edward.

Survivors include her daughters Christina (Stephen) McKinzie, Jordan (Alex) Group; grandchildren Megan McKinzie, Hannah Hadley, Kayla Peterson, Briana Jara, Alyna Jara, Douglas Jara, Noah Jara, her nine great-grandchildren and her four siblings. 

Above all, Julia was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who treasured her family deeply. Her family was her greatest joy and those she leaves behind will carry her love and memory with them always. Her presence will be deeply missed.
