Jeanne C. Breay

Jeanne C. Breay, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, in Arvada, Colorado. Jeanne was born on December 18, 1931, in Toledo, Ohio to Leo and Irene Oswald. She married the love-of-her-life, William Breay, in 1957. In 1968, Bill and Jeanne with their first five children, moved to Colorado. One more child, Linda, was born in Arvada.

Jeanne was known for her feisty spirit, her outgoing nature, and her ability to connect with anyone she met. With a heart of gold, she always was ready to lend a hand or share a splash of humor, even if the punchline sometimes eluded her. Jeanne dedicated herself not only to her family but also to her community. Jeanne, Bill, and their family were founding members of the Spirit of Christ Catholic Community where she served many years on the Liturgy committee, as well as being involved in several other groups, including Young at Heart and Bakers Dozen. She loved painting, sewing, crafting, and camping. Spending time with her family was the greatest gift, and her gatherings around campfires, Christmas trees, and birthday cakes, created lasting memories.

Jeanne leaves behind her children: Terry (Cindi), Edward (Elizabeth), Scott (Terri), Julie (Gary Pilcher), Karen, and Linda (Jeff Griffeth). She was blessed with 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Jeanne is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, her parents, and four siblings, who undoubtedly await her with open arms.

The impact she made on those around her will be remembered, and her spirit of love will remain a bright light in the hearts of her family and friends.

Her memory will be honored and celebrated during the services at Spirit of Christ Catholic Community, located at 7400 West 80th Avenue, Arvada, CO. Family and friends are invited to gather on October 15, 2025, at 7:30 PM for a special gathering, followed by a Mass on October 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to a charity that Jeanne supported for many years, St. Joseph's Indian School in South Dakota, at stjo.org.
