Emmett Eugene McMaster, born October 19, 1937, passed away on September 21, 2026.

Emmett will be remembered as a man of strength, loyalty, and steady purpose. He was always willing to lead when the need arose, and those who knew him understood the depth of his fierce loyalty. He served in the Navy, and throughout his life he carried himself with the same spirit of dedication and resolve. A hard worker with gifted hands, Emmett was a true jack of all trades, able to fix nearly anything. He was always doing something with his hands, rarely idle, and found deep satisfaction in work well done.

He loved the outdoors, camping, and animals, and he held a special affection for the dogs of the family. He also found particular joy in holidays, especially Christmas, which he cherished as a time to gather close and spend loving time with his family. Above all else, Emmett was deeply devoted to those he loved. His family stood at the center of his life, and he was especially dedicated to his granddaughters, who were among his proudest blessings.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Johnson. He also leaves behind his daughter, Lindsay Reeser and her husband, Tim, and his son, John McMaster. His memory will be treasured by his grandchildren, Rebekah Nickel and her husband, Zach, Elizabeth McMaster, and Joseph McMaster. In each of them, and in the love they shared with him, his life continues to be felt with warmth and gratitude.

Emmett was preceded in death by his mother, Anna McMaster; his father, Angus “Bill” McMaster; his sisters, Violet McMaster and Phyllis McMaster; his brothers, Glenn McMaster and Stephen McMaster; and his daughter-in-law, Nicole.

Those who loved Emmett will remember a man who could be counted on, who gave of himself through his labor, his loyalty, and his presence. His was a life shaped by devotion to family, by capable hands, and by a heart that found joy in togetherness. May his memory remain a comfort to all who knew and loved him.
