Elke Amanda Lovelace, née Woeber, was born to Julian and Maria Woeber, in Klingenberg, Bavaria, Germany, in 1942. She immigrated to the United States, where she met her future husband, Joseph Lovelace, at Hill Air Force Base, before moving to Aurora, Colorado, where they were married May 16, 1981.

Elke is survived by her son, Peter Woeber, and her daughter, Patricia Ann Lovelace.
