David Leo Ray, 67, was born in Louisville, Kentucky on April 28. 1958 and died in Thornton, Colorado on July 27, 2025. His cause of death was Septic Shock from Colon Perforation, which was exasperated by Chemotherapy making his system weak and unable to fight infections.
David had a wonderful life and spent most of it working in the Construction Industry, but his real delight was in his Family.
Born to Carolyn and Leo Ray, he and his brother Michael grew up in Louisville, Kentucky. He had three children of his own from his first marriage and re-married in May of 1999, gaining five daughters who gave him thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He has been very close with his maternal Aunt Mary Ann "Mikey" Boyd.
He was still working at the time of his death despite his having had a heart attack and stage IV esophageal cancer.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents and a great-grandson. He is survived by his brother Michael, Aunt "Mikey”, his former wife and three children as well as his current wife, five stepchildren, twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the Holiday Hills grand ballroom at 1801 West 92nd Avenue in Federal Heights, Colorado on September 1, 2025, beginning at 1:00pm.
