Chuck Miller passed away unexpectedly on July 20, 2026. He was born in Ann Arbor, MI on July 4, 1958, to Oscar J. Miller and Joan M. (Hegener) Miller. His family moved to Boulder, CO in 1965. As a youth, Chuck loved reading, playing games, sports, hiking, weightlifting, and biking. He often rode from Boulder to Lyons long before this was a popular thing! He loved trips to his family’s mountain property near Lyons which included target practice with his .22, archery, hiking, and wading in the Little Thompson River.

After graduating from Fairview High School in 1976, he attended Baylor University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting. While at Baylor he was active in his fraternity, Kappa Sigma, and taught basketball at the YMCA. He later received a Master of Accounting degree from the University of North Texas. His career as a CPA centered around the Dallas metropolitan area.

While at Baylor, Chuck met and married Lovis Gale Wright in 1982. They lived in McGregor and Cedar Hill before settling in Duncanville, TX. While attending various Lutheran churches, Chuck served as treasurer, youth group sponsor, Sunday School teacher, and taught literacy.

Chuck and Lovis had one son in 1995, Kyle Jordan Miller. As a father, Chuck passed on his love of the outdoors, games, dogs, and most of all, baseball! He taught chess to his son’s elementary and middle school classes, was a band booster, and baseball coach.

In 2023, Chuck returned to Colorado and settled in Louisville to be near his son, daughter in-law and grandson. He loved spending time with them and enjoyed barbeques with extended family. He still loved playing all sorts of board and card games, listening to classic rock, and hiking at Chautauqua and Rocky Mountain National Park.

Chuck was preceded in death by both parents, Oscar and Joan Miller. He is survived by his wife, Lovis Wright Miller, son Kyle, daughter-in-law Julia, grandson Estes; two sisters, Nancy Myers and Debbie Roberts (Jim), numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great nephews, and cousins in FL.

Chuck will be remembered for his love of family, his appreciation for the outdoors, and the meaningful times he spent with those close to him.
