Obituary

Charles Frederick Moll Sr., affectionately known as "Chuck," passed away on October 16, 2025, in his native Colorado at the age of 95. Born on July 21, 1930, Chuck lived a life marked by dedicated service, professional accomplishment, and rich family bonds.

Chuck's early years included attendance at St. Francis De Sales High School, where he laid the foundation for a lifetime of learning and achievement. In 1947, demonstrating a strong sense of duty and patriotism, he enlisted in the United States Army, serving in the Corps of Engineers. His commitment was recognized through an honorable discharge in 1952, with the rank of Sergeant, a testament to his leadership and dedication.

Following his military service, Chuck pursued a career as an accountant, applying his skills with precision and integrity. Throughout his life, he cultivated a variety of interests that enriched his personal world. He was passionate about bowling, diving, swimming, golf, traveling, art, reading, and cooking—activities that brought him joy and connected him with friends and family alike.

Chuck was a proud and longtime member of many esteemed organizations including the Westminster Elks Lodge #2227, the American Legion Post 161 in Arvada, Colorado, and the Mount Vernon Canyon Club in Golden, Colorado. These affiliations underscored his commitment to community, camaraderie, and service.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Carol Moll, and his cherished sister, Judith Ellis. Chuck’s legacy endures through his children: Charles F. Moll, Jr. (Marjika Gottfried), Matthew C. Moll, Angelique Moll, Lynette Destefano, Heather Holland, and Cynthia Ureda (Michael Ureda). His grandchildren—Brendan Gottfried-Moll (Lucy Arellano), Preston Gottfried-Moll, Victoria Souther (Carson Souther), Conner Moll, Megan Warren (Jeremy Warren), Khalid Bushaala (Paige Bushaala), Constance Rodriguez (Jeremy Rodriguez), Caitlin Mason (Austin Mason), Kiersten Bushaala, Ray Destefano (Brit Destefano), Nycole Swearingen (Kepi Swearingen), Jesse Holland, Ryan Holland, David Ureda, and Nicole Ureda (Erik Green)—reflect the broad and loving reach of his family. He also took great pride in his numerous great-grandchildren: Melody and Itzayana Arellano, John and Nicole Souther, Genevieve and Maeve Warren, Kauai and Khalil Bushaala, Cooper and Kaydence Rodriguez, Madysen and Maddox Mason, Scott and Julia Destefano, and Sam Swearingen.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick "Fred" and Lois Moll, and his brother, Robert "Bob" Moll.

The interment service honoring Charles Frederick Moll Sr. will be held on June 26, 2026, beginning at 10:15 a.m. at Fort Logan National Cemetery, located at 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver, CO 80236. Staging Area White.
