Cathye Marie Allen (Wright)
December 11, 1953 – June 25, 2026
Cathye Marie Allen (Wright), age 72, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026, at UCHealth Anschutz.
Born on December 11, 1953, in Fort Carson, Colorado, to Patricia and Ernest Wright, Cathye lived a life marked by compassion, generosity, and a genuine love for people. She was preceded in death by her parents, Patricia and Ernest Wright.
She is survived by her beloved son, Lucas Allen, and her son-in-law, Christopher Landis; her brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and Lorri Wright; her niece and nephew-in-law, Lindsey and Eric Novacek, and their daughters, Hailey, Ella, and Isabelle; and her nephew, Jason Wright, and his sons, Andrew and Dillon.
If you knew Cathye, you knew someone who always seemed to have room in her heart for one more person. She had a gift for making others feel welcome, cared for, and remembered. Whether she was checking in on a friend, helping someone through a difficult time, or simply stopping to visit with a neighbor from her patio, she believed that people mattered. She never looked for recognition; she simply saw a need and did what she could to help.
Her kindness was reflected in countless quiet acts of generosity. She would help a friend whose daughter was in the hospital by making sure they had money for food, lend a hand to someone facing an unexpected car repair, or offer encouragement when life felt overwhelming. To Cathye, helping others wasn't extraordinary—it was simply the right thing to do.
Family was the center of her life. She loved deeply, and nowhere was that more evident than in the devotion she had for her son, Lucas. She was his biggest supporter, his fiercest advocate, and his constant source of love. She celebrated his successes, stood beside him through life's challenges, and never stopped believing in him. Her love for her family extended to every gathering, every holiday, and every birthday, where she delighted in searching for just the right gift—especially for the children she adored. She found joy in seeing others smile.
Cathye also appreciated the beauty in everyday life. She loved working on puzzles, tending to her flowers, and spending time on her patio, where conversations with neighbors often became the highlight of her day. She looked forward to her favorite television shows and was known to excitedly spoil a plot twist now and then—not to ruin the surprise, but because she simply couldn't wait to share something she enjoyed with someone else.
The measure of a life is often found not in accomplishments or accolades, but in the lives touched along the way. Cathye leaves behind a legacy of quiet kindness, unwavering love, and simple generosity. She showed those around her that compassion doesn't have to be grand to be meaningful. Sometimes it looks like a thoughtful gift, a conversation on the porch, a helping hand when times are hard, or simply making someone feel less alone.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, neighbors, and the many people whose lives were made brighter by her warmth, her caring heart, and her willingness to help. Though she is no longer with us, the love she shared continues to live on in the people she loved and the countless acts of kindness she inspired.
