Born on October 13, 1928, in Denver, Colorado. Bruce grew up in Fairplay, Colorado where his father and grandfather built the Hand Hotel. There he met and married his sweetheart, Gloria. They moved to Colorado Springs for a short time where he worked for the Unser family in which he drove a touring car up to the top of Pikes Peak. He loved to drive to the top because he could buy the “world’s best donuts.” After a short stint in Colorado Springs, they moved back to Fairplay to help with running the Hand Hotel. While on a trip, they stopped at the JC Penney store in Montrose, Colorado, to buy a baby bottle. Not only did they get the bottle, but Bruce was hired on the spot to work at Penney’s. He stayed there for two years and was promoted to assistant manager in Albuquerque, New Mexico. After two years he was assigned to a store in Denver and worked there for two years. He was then promoted to manager of the Penney store in Leadville, Colorado. After six years he was transferred to be the manager at Rock Springs, Wyoming. During his nine-year tenure, he increased the sales of the store, in which he was recognized with repeated awards and trips. His last transfer took him to Los Banos, California. After nine years, he retired. Bruce and Gloria lived there another ten years and then moved to Arvada to be near family. All-in-all, they lived in nine cities and in four states.

Bruce and Gloria were happily married 62 years until Gloria’s death in 2012. He was a father to three children, grandfather to eight grandchildren, and great-grandfather to 18 great-grandchildren. Bruce was a strong Christian and loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who he is now with eternally.

Bruce was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Joann Fuson Hand, mother Emma Jane Wolf Hand, father Norman Jacob Hand, his brothers Norman Jacob Hand, Jr., William Rollin Hand, Clarance (Chuck) Alvin Hand, and sister Jane Joy Hand.

Bruce is survived by two sons, a daughter, eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and twelve nieces and nephews.

-Son, Matthew David, wife Shella Mamac Hand, and one son, Brex Matthew, (Tulsa, Oklahoma).
-Son, Micah Andrew, wife Kimberly Ann Hill Hand, one son, Knox Alexander, and one daughter, Marlowe Alexandra, (Lexington, Kentucky).

-Daughter, Debra Kay Hand Ziemer, husband Randy J Ziemer, and four children, (Arvada, Colorado).

-Daughter, Earen Michelle Ziemer Clark, husband Daniel Clark, three sons and one daughter, (Arvada, Colorado).
-Son, Joshua Andrew Ziemer, wife Ashley Ziemer, four sons and two daughters, (Briggsdale, Colorado).
-Daughter, Jill Christina Ziemer (Arvada, Colorado).
-Son, Abram J Ziemer, wife Jenna Larson Ziemer, one son and one daughter (Thorton, Colorado).

-Son, Kim Robert Hand, wife Elizabeth Elise Montgomery Hand, two sons, (Broken Arrow, Oklahoma).

-Son, Andrew Nathaniel (Broken Arrow, Oklahoma), wife, Julianne and three sons, Jacob Nathaniel, Noah Andrew and Samuel James, (Broken Arrow, Oklahoma).
-Son, Jacob Robert Hand, wife Emily Catherine Perkins (Wagoner, Oklahoma).

Graveside Life Celebration occurred on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Arvada Cemetery, Arvada, Colorado.
